Are you pulling three off just to fix one damage section or is it just showing what would be done if you had multiple sections bad ?
Thank you so much! The only video out there on YouTube where you get clear step by step explanation which actually works in real life!! I`ve watched dozens of other videos where you`ll get only general information. This man explains and shows it all! We`ve actually replaced 3 laminate planks using this video! It saved us a lot of money as we initially thought we will have to replace the entire flooring!
You saved my first repair job, thank you
I have to save this video, a watch a few times. I have a couple to replace and I need to be sure which ones to notch and trim
VERY helpful video.
Thanks for taking the time to create it.
What if itโs one half piece that butts up against the wall? How do you fix that?
Had to replace 4 planks and this is the first video that showed me how to replace the first three and ensure a stronger bond. Very grateful, thx man!
You're the man mate! Just saved my arse!
Perfect video because you did not miss showing the tiny details and video was slow enough to follow.
This is absolutely phenomenal. Im gonna replace a few of my boards later today. Im actually looking forward to it.
Craftsmanship at its best.
What if the vinyl planks are thick and stiff? Your example is the cheap pliant thin vinyl planks.
This is a 4/5 stars video. The only thing missing is a section that goes into more detail around when and how to modify the lips. Iโm replacing 8 planks, the video emboldened me to take the planks out. Now Iโm praying I can get a good idea of when to remove the lips and how to modify the new planks so they fit well without screwing it up.
The last piece about the channel is what confuses me still. Did you cut the groove off first and then cut from the bottom of the plank to make that channel. Sorry im a little slow
Wow… this guy is the BOMB! He gets it, and knows his stuff so well! Looks like a million bucks when he's done. THAT'S what pros do! No one beats them, ever! Well done!!!
This is by far the best video I've seen for replacing damaged flooring. Many thanks for making it.
As a 20+ year floor covering installer, I tip my hat to you for the only excellent LVP repair video I've seen so far!
I wish I had found your video before watching 10 others that caused more issues for me. This solved all my issues!
I would appreciate a video on how to do this on a floor that was installed incorrectly. That was my most recent repair. I did not install the floor.๐ข
Thanks! You just saved me a bunch of extra work I thought I was facing!๐
Watched other videos but havenโt come accross any better than yours! I am a homeowner that had a toilet problem due to a plumber that messed up. Now my small closet type toilet room within a bathroom has the lvpf removed. I was going to try it myself but this takes experience and skills that you have my friend. You donโt happen to live in Phoenix do ya? Can recommend anyone here with the talent you have?
Thank you
What if the same replacement pieces are no more available?
This probably wonโt work with 12 mm mohawk Redwood laminate will it?
Excellent detail and tutorial, thanks so much for this
Glad I looked into this as I thought I was screwed and was looking at tearing up half the floor to get at the damaged pieces. Had a kitchen chair on wheels damage the floor and didn't realize it was happening until too late. Gonna give it a go.
I had someone install lifeproof LVP for me they didnโt do prep on high and low spots so I can start to point out places where the seams are failing can I use this approach to remove the problem planks then go in and level the floor out by sanding or filling then go in and reinstall ?
Thatโs 4 pieces coming out not 3
Made easy you made it harder. So many unnecessary steps
Excelent tips, thanks for sharing
Thank you! I had water damage in a large area. The vinyl planking was pulled up and preserved, but I was worried about how to put it back together. Your video is so clear. I will share this with my handyman.
But google does not recommend gluing planks together. Google says that it can cause warping or buckling.
I have to replace about half a dozen that were under a chair, this was perfect! Thank you so much for the time and effort on this video, I greatly appreciate it!
Thank you for this!
Does this affect the overall integrity of the floor? Will the glue pop when seasons change?
Wow this guy is good. There is a lot more to this procedure than first meets the eye, and he really shows every detail. Thanks. Question: What should it cost in a large metro area (March 2026) for a handyman to replace one of these LVP planks?
Incredible !!!nice job.
By far the absolute best method and perfectly instructed DYI bar-none! Thank you 100 times over!!
Do you do house calls calls
I never like or comment on videos but this is the most helpful one Iโve seen for this problem ๐๐๐ thank you so much!
Awesome video! Very informative and spoke in terms everyone should understand.
Use waterproof wood glue super glue is not waterproof smh
Do you know what would have been faster… Taking up those two or three rows and then putting them right back down would have taken 5 minutes. Even faster not making this mistake in the first place. BTW Go ahead and do that on a floor floating on top of tile… No.. oh ok
Well done! I'll be doing this repair soon! Thank you so much.
Thanks man I appreciate your time !!!
No self pontification. No fluff, no stories of how great he is. Just straight to the point. Great "How To Do Video".
I have about 12-15 pieces that i need to place..is this the same principle? i noticed you only had 3.
Iโve read on more than one of these videos for the same repair that in time the one side will bow. Seems to be only good for temporary repair, you would have to remove planks up to the trouble plank and back up towards to wall to properly seal it no?
Best video on subject!

I have done repairs exactly like this and let me just say they are not as durable as the whole plank being put in… I realize it's not cost effective to take apart half of floor to put two boards in… however if in a traffic area I would try to put in full planks to avoid cracks and separating.. The strength of the floor resides in the tongue holding all four sides when you cut off the tongue and just glue it on the strength is transferred to all the surrounding boards thus making the floor weaker in that area…ask me how I know…. Although it's more labor-intensive I would recommend dismantling the floor and reassembling it it's possible if you're careful depending on what type of floor you have…. I believe this installer knows what he's doing and is trying to show you how to fix something without creating a bunch of work… But in reality work is work.
