Pro tip for working with wax fill. When doing multiple holes speed becomes important. I use a small butane torch to heat the wax, then it will easily fill the hole when rubbed across it. Then I scrape the excess with a plastic scraper and finish by rubbing with a mineral spirits soaked cloth.
I’m a builder, and I will not be drilling holes through my oak floor to put a screw through it
My squeaky floors are an alarm system incase of any intruder at night.
Any tips for squeaky floors in a condo?
Me- crawlspace remove insulation search for it no thanks I can live with a squeak awhile until the spirit moves me.
Helped nicely
I hated every second of this video 😂
Thank you very much for your video and instructions! Today I fixed the floor in a 140 sq. ft. room. The material cost me less than CAD $40 and required only about four hours of quiet work. The results are about 95%, and I am very happy with them. Now I will plan to install floating vinyl flooring over the hardwood. Thank you again!
Yes I have finally accomplished what I delayed for 35 yrs. Found the screw kits for squeaky hardwood floors. Eureka!

Been subscribed for a while and never saw this one, but as luck would have it this appeared in my feed while in the middle of tearing down and replacing the drop ceiling in my basement. I took the opportunity to fix three squeaky spots in my bedroom above using the techniques from below. Thank you!
I love this guy, no diddy!
OK Geezer
Our 1955 house has creaks… but I love the sound.
Can you create a video on how to fix a squeek in a hardwood staircase??
What if all the other blemishes are actually wax patches over screws?
My squeaks magically appeared in the worst place possible. No easy access from below because it’s literally located on top of a separating wall in the first floor. I’d have to tear apart three huge drywall sections and go between a separating wall just to tackle them. I hate my house.
Great video. Thank you!
So I have a few planks are a bit raised and they make the floor squeak. My real issue is that I will lay vinyl plank flooring over this, and these few raised planks make the floor, that will now be considered my subfloor, uneven in the hallway.
Would doing what is in this video make those planks more level with the other planks? It does not need to be perfect since the new flooringhas padding, but more less of a difference in height difference.
Also, to add, I had someone look at the in the basement, at the joist and all that, and there are no obvious major issues there, as far as the wood floor's subfloor. At this point, I believe the issue is the few planks.
(And I know, I know, why cover over wood flooring? It is only because the floor will be too expensive to refinish, the while dust and refinishing process while also living in the home is a situation, and there are some areas that would likely still look bad if they were refinished. I actually refinished some ofe floors myself, and concluded, I like it, but it's just too big of a project to finish. Also, it's an older home (60's) in a lower cost of living area, it's not likely going to do too much in raising the value compared to how much it would cost for someone to refinish it for me. Plus, it's always there if later I change my mind one day down the road.)
Amazing!! My husband fixed all our floors today with your guidance. Thank you do much, you do the Lord’s work!!
I’m sending this to my sweetheart for her her blessing before I go drilling into the floor. I think it’s a good and probably the only way to fix the annoying squeaks. Thank you!
Next we’ll do the stairs!🎉
