  1. now you have a visible gap at the baseboard…but if you added shoe mold it would hide it. This just shows that now matter how "wonderful" this new stuff is, it just doesn't hold up long term. 🙁

  2. Now run some quarter-round molding along the bottom of that base board and close all those flooring end gaps along that base board. Finish it off with some painters caulk and paint. Not really hard, just takes a little work and crawling on your knees.

  3. great tips!! Also that double sided tape if great to stick car dashcams to the windscreen. Holds great, and when it's time to seel the car the tape comes right off with zero resideue left behind. It's great stuff

  4. too bad this only works on newly installed floors. if yours is 8 years old like mine, GOOD LUCK! especially when your flooring is textured like mine is.

  5. Be careful not to use too much force. If the board doesn’t slide easily with a light tap you may have a board that is stuck or possibly glued in place! I tried this and my board literally cracked in two because the whole board was unable to slide and the stress was too much for it.

  6. Thanks for posting this. I'm a homeowner with very few homeowner skills. Gaps in our LVP had been driving my wife and I crazy for months. I finally reached my wits end today and started searching how to's. Your tips were easy to follow and all told it probably took us less than an hour to fix!

  7. amazing tutorial!
I used an old wood cutting board and a couple loops of duct tape, no need for all that fancy double sided tape. As long as the duct tape is perpendicular to the "planks", the grip should be fine

  8. My hardwood floor needs to be mopped really bad and I'm afraid to do it now because of the panels that have the gaps even though I kicked the gaps closed. I'm thinking of putting some tape on the now closed crack gaps before I mop the floor.
Afraid of getting moisture in the underlayment.
Anybody out there with a suggestion for me?

  9. I used to fix this issues with a rubber mallet. It doesn't damage the laminate. Keep the hammer head flat (like the peice of wood in this video) to the surface and just make foward motion toward where you want the laminate to move.

Its essentially the same thing as this video with less steps. If you dont own a rubber mallet this is a cleaver idea
